Looking for silicone baby spoons, silicone baby bowls, and/or silicone sippy cups for a new baby? Whether you’re starting baby-led weaning or introducing a sippy cup, it’s important for your baby’s health and the health of the planet that you choose plastic-free alternatives.
-
Ideally, anything that the baby puts in their mouth should not contain any BPA, Phthalates, or PVCs.
^ These chemicals are known endocrine disruptors that bioaccumulate in the body and can cause health problems over time, especially with long-term exposure. They are bad for us and even worse for baby. In a perfect world, you would avoid plastic baby products altogether, but if you can’t, try to at least make sure they don’t contain these three harmful chemicals.
I know– it’s hard and often more expensive to find good plastic-free baby products, but if you have the means and the wherewithal to even google something like this (which is, I assume, how you landed on this list) then you will not regret shopping with any of the brands on this list.
Below, we spotlight 5 great plastic-free baby tableware brands that make sustainable products that are BPA, PVC, and Phthalate-free. Everything on this list is safe by those standards.
This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links, which means we may earn a small commission from purchases through us. This is how we pay for independent research and product testing to ensure that our recommendations remain unbiased.
I’ve also tested and used these products with my own children, so I’m confident that these products will be safe and enjoyable for yours!
Below, scroll the guide to get a sense of what will work best for you and your family before purchasing. (Some products are dishwasher-safe but not microwave-safe, for example, and that may or may not work for your family system.)
Either way, whether you’re looking for silicone baby spoons, silicone baby sippy cups, silicone baby bowls, or any other BPA-free, plastic-free baby tableware, these brands offer it all.
Have fun feeding your little one!

Ekobo (Elegant, Aesthetic-Pleasing Plastic-Free Baby Bowls, Cups, and Spoons)
Ekobo is fancy, French, and aesthetic-pleasing; they have the best suction-cup silicone baby bowls on the market in my opinion, which is great for the early solids days and even into the toddler years.
Ekobo’s signature eco-composite is made from a combination of food-safe melamine binder and sawdust by-product that is sustainably collected from chopstick factories.
The resulting baby spoons and dishes that they make are BPA-free, PVC-free, and Phthalate-free.
And, their products are dishwasher safe, making each phthalate-free baby spoon and eco-composite bowl a great plastic-free alternative. They also have lovely baby feeding bundles that make great gifts for new eaters.
Their products are more sustainable than plastic (and free of the dangerous chemicals associated with it) and yet stronger than traditional tableware, which can break easily. (Their bowls, for example, can easily withstand being thrown from a highchair. And then, you can safely put them in the dishwasher!)

Dishwasher Safe, But Not Microwave Safe
Be advised, however, that Ekobo products are not microwave safe. However, pediatric guidelines dictate that you should not microwave baby food anyways, because this can lead to uneven heating that could potentially burn baby’s mouth.
Instead, if you plan on heating your baby’s food, try warming it on stove top or warm it in a bottle warmer before transferring it to a bowl, whenever possible. If using a bottle warmer, be sure to use a glass bottle!
Baeba (Cute, Ergonomic Silicone Baby Spoons)
Baeba spoons are cute and ergonomic, with a wonderful germ-proof built-in kickstand that keeps it clean because the part that goes in baby’s mouth rests above the floor if it lands there. (So, if baby throws the spoon, you don’t have to wash it every time!)
The firm bite is also great for babies who are teething (our daughters loved gnawing on this spoon in between bites!).
As with all French-made products, Baeba’s entire line of baby utensils is BPA-free.
They also make nice insulated stainless-steel food jars for dipping their spoons into. We used Baeba’s baby food maker to steam chicken and broccoli and other baby foods for our kids in the early days, and these food jars became easy, portable containers to store that food in for meals on-the-go.
Ryan + Rose Cutie Tensils (Tiny Silicone Baby Fork & Spoon All-in-One; Best For Brand New Eaters)
Ryan + Rose Cutie Tensils are a fork + spoon all in one brand. This is a great starter spoon for baby-led weaning as its thin handle is easy for tiny hands to hold. Plus, the ribbed body exposes baby to interesting new textures!
And, because it’s a fork and spoon in one, you can minimize the number of baby utensils you need to buy as baby can simply flip the utensil around and start using the soft-pronged “fork” to stick her food once she is older and more capable.
The small spoon size is also ideal for tiny mouths as it’s small enough to fit inside even the tiniest baby mouth. (Some bigger silicone spoons can be somewhat unwieldy and lead to a gag-reflex in babies who shove the spoon too forcefully into their mouth. This one is small enough to avoid that pitfall.)
The Baby’s Brew (2-in-1 Silicone Straw Cups for Baby)
The Baby’s Brew makes an awesome 2-in-1 silicone straw sippy cup, a snack cup that also functions as a straw sippy cup and open training cups for baby.
The two ergonomic handles are easy for baby to grip, while the silicone straw adapts seamlessly to baby’s mouth, especially when it’s the first thing they learn to suck after a bottle. (For this reason, using a straw silicone cup like this one is much safer and more intuitive than an open training cup, and it can be used later or in tandem with this cup.)
We love the collapsable, spill-proof ergonomic design of this BPA-free silicone baby sippy cup, and we love that it’s also dishwasher safe.
All of the parts are soft and pliant for baby’s gentle groping hands and mouth, yet the materials are light enough that they can start using it from 6 months onward.
The doctor-recommended silicone straw is free from harsh chemicals and also removable so you can also use this silicone baby cup as a snack cup on the go. Or, remove the lid entirely and use it as an open training cup– you decide! It also has a suction cup bottom to prevent spills when not in use.
Ultimately, whether you’re using it as a snack cup or a water cup, The Baby’s Brew silicone straw cup is one of the best baby cup options on the market for people who are crazy about minimizing their kids’ plastic exposure. (I’m one of those people, so trust me on this! There are only a few entirely silicone training cups on the market today as most silicone or metal training cups still use plastic straws, whereas this cup uses a silicone straw, too. We love that!)
Nibble and Rest Silicone Straw Cup for Baby (& Toddlers!)
Nibble and Rest makes a great 4-in-1 Silicone Straw Cup for Babies and Toddlers that is BPA, phthalate, and PVC-free. It’s made of dishwasher-safe silicone and comes with an anti-leak straw and two handles for easy holding. (And, like The Baby’s Brew Silicone cups above, this straw is also made from silicone. Always check what the straws are made of if you’re looking to avoid all plastic!)
Choose from pink, blue, or neutral gray colors. Use it as a sippy cup, toddler cup, and open training cup all-in-one, so your baby can grow with it as they age.
The brand also has silicone spoon and fork sets that are also BPA-free, PVC-free, and Phthalate-free.
Bumkins Silicone Chew-tensils (Compact Budget Option)
Bumkins Chew-tensils are a quick Amazon-ready silicone baby spoon option that’s convenient, compact, and highly functional. If you don’t like buying your baby products on Amazon, they are also available at Target and Buy Buy Baby. Either way, this is a great budget option!
The short length of these compact silicone baby spoons and forks means that baby can easily maneuver them into their mouth.
Plus, Bumkins’ silicone baby spoons and forks feature built-in sensory bumps to stimulate gums. A bonus for those who are actively teething!
~ Honorable Mention ~
Wild & Stone (Bamboo Weaning Suction Plates + Spoons)
Wild & Stone makes an awesome Over The Rainbow bamboo weaning suction plate, which is a super-cute sustainable feeding tray for presenting a beautiful rainbow of cut fruit to older babies.
If you’re looking for an aesthetically pleasing food plate for baby, this is your best bet!
Wild & Stone also makes bamboo weaning spoons with silicone heads– and while they’re not dishwasher or microwave-safe, you can simply wash these and any bamboo baby plates with warm, soapy water.
Ultimately, as long as you avoid exposing your plates and cups to extreme temperatures (don’t put them in the sterilizer, for example; warm soap and water are just fine) then you should be good to go!
